Teaser Tales – NFL Week 11

Teaser Tales Record: 3-3

I apologize to any Full Slate reader who took my garbage teasers last week. Vegas was due for a week where the dogs started to eat and they finally got it. Underdogs went 8-5-1 ATS last week and wait for it, 6 underdogs won outright. Ladies and gentlemen, that is a recipe for disaster when it comes to the land of the teasers. Luckily, I’ve got my head on straight like Rocky in Rocky 3 after he gets beaten down by Clubber Lang (us in Week 10), loses his mojo (us Sunday night), and regains his moxie after teaming up with Apollo Creed and gets back to the basics (us right now). I’m going to include the training link for readers just because everyone can always use a bit more Rocky 3 in their lives.

The Teasers

  1. Teaser Tale #1 (-110): Steelers +1 and Chargers -1
  • Steelers: This game features two teams on very different trajectories right now. The Jaguars come in on 5 game losing streak and can’t seem to do anything right. Leonard Fournette finally returned from his hamstring injury last week and was productive; however, Bortles continues to prove that his days of being a starter in the NFL may be numbered. I’d be nervous giving up the points with the Steelers but I love them to win. An angle to consider here is how the Steelers will want revenge after their loss to the Jaguars in the playoffs last year. Plus, this stat makes me feel pretttty prettty good about putting faith in the Steelers on the road; the Steelers are 9-0-1 in their last 10 road games, hence why they’re one half of this juicy teaser.
  • Chargers:  As football fans, I think we’re all used to the Chargers being the good bad team that will hang around 7-9 / 8-8 and have a handful of heartbreaking losses throughout the year. This isn’t last year’s Chargers team. The Chargers are 7-2 and have all the pieces to make a late run in the postseason this year with Rivers playing out of his mind as well as a dominant run game with Melvin Gordon / Austin Ekeler. The Broncos defense has been giving up 131.6 rushing yards/game so I expect that Gordon / Ekeler combo to have a day. The Broncos on the road have been a dumpster fire of late, going 2-12 SU in their last 14 road games. I see that trend continuing this weekend and the Chargers getting it done at home.

I’m changing things up from past weeks and only taking one teaser this week. This is my highest conviction play so double down and put your two units on this one and cash in on some lunch money for the week.
