Texas Longhorns vs Texas Tech Red Raiders – Preview & Prediction

The battle for the Lone Star State is here and I’m not talking about Beto vs Cruz. Both the Longhorns and the Red Raiders are coming off offensive shootouts last week, that resulted in close losses. Both teams also have star power at QB that have had trouble staying healthy. This game will come down to the team that can show a shed of defense.

The Texas Longhorns are led by quarterback, Sam Ehlinger. He is one tough son of a gun and the Longhorns are an elite team when he is on the field. Sam gives his big receivers plenty of opportunities to make plays down the field and he isn’t afraid to lower his pads for a first down. Texas and West Virginia last week combined for nearly 1100 total yards and 83 points.

The Red Raiders are led by their young QB in Alan Bowman. He was lighting it up against Oklahoma this Saturday before leaving with an injury and Texas Tech as a result lost the game that had over 1100 total yards and 97 points. The reason for that is TT can’t stop any opposing offenses and the only noticeable player on their defense is injured linebacker, Dakota Allen, who was featured on the Netflix’s “Last Chance U”. Great show!

The interesting part about this game is Alan Bowman looks to be out for Texas Tech this game as he suffered a collapsed lung earlier in the season and it looked left this Saturday after having trouble breathing. He was in the hospital this week and even if he plays he will not be 100%. The fact is that TT is not the same without Bowman and the Longhorns are coming into this one angry. There will be plenty of offense , but with the injuries I see the Texas Longhorns getting a close win on the road led by their run game.

Prediction: Texas 34 Texas Tech 27

[Record Against The Spread: 2-1]
