Tums Preview of the Week – Rams @ 49ers

I don’t want to call it a comeback because I never left but uhh don’t look now, I just MIGHT be getting hot in the Tums Preview of the Week picks. That’s two in a row for all you keeping track at home. Yes, I’m cool with staring the mush gods directly in the face and not shivering in my boots. Before I move on and try to make it three in a row, let’s recap how on we climbed back to 2-2.

Bills @ Texans -10: This one was an absolute roller coaster of emotions. The Bills were in the driver seat of this one with Bills ML bettors drooling at the mouth early in the 4th quarter. It was all going so well; Nathan Peterman even threw a TD! Then, the man, the myth, the legend that is Peterman came back down to Earth. Growing up Peterman cared about three things: God, Family, and Matt Schaub. That’s my only explanation for what’s happening because he’s quickly become the new Pick 6 machine (shoutout to that sandwich named for the Matt Schaub specialty). Peterman entered the game and Petermaned (you know what I’m going for here) to give the Texans the lead, and make +10 bettors start perspiring. On the Bills last drive to potentially tie the game, Peterman did what he does best and threw ANOTHER pick. Luckily for all of us, he wasn’t able to Peterman and we secured the W. Final: Texans 20 Bills 13. This is a 7/10 on the TUMS METER. We covered so it can’t be higher but this is when you have a nice hibachi dinner and go out for drinks with some friends. You have an awesome time for the first two hours at the bar and then all that hibachi chicken and shrimp you ate hits you at once. Oh god, there’s a line for the bathroom. It’s not moving. You panic. There’s someone in the woman’s stall, as well. You start sweating profusely . What can you do? Yes yes YES, the dude in the guy’s room finally left! You’re good. Yes, I just compared almost having an accident with almost getting backdoored by getting Petermaned twice.

Okay, let’s move on to this week’s Tums Preview of the Week game. The LA Rams travel north to take on the San Francisco 49ers.

Rams @ 49ers +9.5

The Weekly Case for the Dog: Can CJ Beathard do it again?

  • Rams are 1-4 SU and 0-5 ATS their past five games vs. the 49ers.
  • Rams are 1-3 ATS their last four road games.
  • 49ers are 2-1 ATS in CJ Beathard’s starts this season (0-3 SU). As many wise men have said before me, good teams  quarterbacks win, great teams quarterbacks cover. We may have a great quarterback on our hands here folks!

This is the second time I’ve featured my CJ Beathard-led 49ers in a Tums Preview post. Last time, I faded him. I’ve gone back and forth on this one and you know what, I’m riding with my Niners. The betting trends say it. CJ Beathard’s recent success say it. Let’s ride with the home dog and pray for the best (and as few Todd Gurley carries as possible tbh).
