NBA Opening Night Picks

The NBA season is back! There are two great games to start off the 2018-19 season. Both matchups present value and are worthy of a couple of wagers.

Boston Celtics -5 vs Philadelphia 76ers

Boston begins the season at home tonight with high expectations. They face off against a 76ers team with equally high expectations and revenge on their mind after being eliminated by a Celtics team with no Hayward and Irving. The 76ers are coming back from a preseason trip to China, something the Warriors and Timberwolves did last year. Both coaching staffs talked about how grueling the China trip was and how it took a few weeks for players to re-acclimate. This showed in their ATS record as the Warriors opened 1-6 ATS and the Wolves lost 4 of 5 ATS. Getting Irving and Hayward back against a team they dominated in the post season make this an strong play for me.

Plays: Celtics -5 and Celtics -3 First Half

Golden State Warriors vs Oklahoma City Thunder Over 220

Golden State begins the quest for a third straight title and 4th in 5 years tonight at home against a Thunder team without Westbrook. The Warriors will look to start the season off with fireworks in their ring ceremony. I expect Curry, Durant and Thompson to be chucking 3’s early and if they fall this game will soar over the 220 total, which has been dropping since news of Westrbook broke. The total for this game has dropped five points and this is a steep drop. Since last year Dennis Schroeder played at almost the same pace as Westbrook. Look for OKC to try and keep pace in a high scoring affair.

Plays: Warriors OKC Over 220 and Warriors Team Total over 116.5
